Couples Workshop: Couple's Therapy You Can Do Right Now Part 3

The Sticky Note Treasure Hunt of Gratitude: Couple's Therapy Exercise.

This one can be done alone or both partners can take part. Show how much you appreciate your partner with sincere notes of gratitude. Think about your partner and what he/she will do in the coming days for the family, house, and you. Leave a sticky note with a note of appreciation for your partner where they will naturally find it. Does your partner have to get up and go to work early?  Hide one on their keys.  Will your partner be up in the middle of the night changing a diaper? Where will she reach when she is making dinner for your children? Hide a note saying how glad you are she takes such good care of the family. Where will he look for laundry soap when he goes to do family laundry? Leave a note saying how nice it is he makes the laundry smell so good! Try to be stealthy so it takes a few days for all the sticky notes to show up!

There are a few more important things you can do for your partner. Feeling important and seen by your partner is such an important part of feeling happy in a partnership.  Bonus?  Acknowledging the gratitude you feel for your partner can make YOU feel happy.

Ready to book an appointment? Our St. Louis relationship counselors can help you and your partner find each other again. Call today, you and your family will be happy you did.
