Meet Amy

Welcome to Your Healing Journey with Amy

Do you ever find yourself wondering how you’re supposed to handle everything life throws at you on your own? Stress, emotional struggles, and unexpected life changes can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. Healing and growth become more possible when you have someone walking beside you with understanding, guidance, and support.

I’m Amy, and I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected. Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing, work toward creating a healthier balance in your life, and build the tools needed for long-term emotional well-being. Whether you are navigating stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions, my role is to help you move toward clarity, confidence, and healing.

Your journey is unique, and our work together will focus on understanding your experiences while empowering you to create meaningful change and self-discovery.

What I Offer

I provide a compassionate and individualized approach to therapy that focuses on helping people navigate life’s transitions and emotional challenges. My goal is to help you build resilience, develop effective coping strategies, and discover a stronger sense of balance and self-confidence.

In our sessions, we will explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to stress or uncertainty in your life. Through supportive conversation and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I help clients gain insight into their patterns, develop healthier coping skills, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

My work often integrates several therapeutic approaches to ensure that treatment reflects each client’s needs and goals. I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy, along with other integrative approaches that promote emotional growth and lasting change. Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping you build a healthier path forward.

Why Choose Amy?

Choosing the right therapist is an important step in your healing journey. I am committed to creating a space that feels welcoming, respectful, and free of judgment so that you can speak openly about your experiences.

I approach therapy as a collaborative partnership. Together we will identify your goals, explore what may be holding you back, and develop practical strategies to help you move forward. Whether you are seeking personal growth, support through difficult life transitions, or help managing anxiety or depression, I strive to create an environment where you feel valued and empowered.

I also have a strong commitment to inclusivity and cultural awareness. I work closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities and have experience supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community, ensuring that every client feels respected, understood, and affirmed throughout the therapeutic process.

Areas of Specialization

A large part of my work centers on helping people navigate major life transitions, such as moving, career changes, relationship shifts, or adjusting to new life roles. These moments can feel uncertain or overwhelming, but they can also create opportunities for personal growth and renewed direction.

I frequently support individuals managing anxiety and depression, helping them better understand their experiences while developing tools to regulate emotions and improve overall well-being. Many clients come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, uncertain about their future, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we work to rebuild confidence, restore emotional balance, and develop healthier ways of coping.

I also work with children and adolescents, helping young people manage the challenges of growing up in today’s world. This may include addressing school-related stress, emotional regulation, peer relationships, behavioral concerns, or family conflict while helping them develop resilience and self-confidence.

Creating a supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals is another important part of my practice. Therapy offers a space where clients can explore identity, relationships, and personal experiences in a safe and affirming setting.

Many clients also seek support for building a healthier work-life balance, learning to manage the demands of career, family, and personal well-being in ways that reduce stress and improve overall quality of life.

In addition to these areas, I have experience working with a wide range of concerns including ADHD, adoption-related challenges, anger management, antisocial personality concerns, anxiety, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, body positivity, cancer-related emotional challenges, career counseling, caregiver stress, child and adolescent concerns, chronic impulsivity, codependency, coping skills, depression, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, divorce, domestic abuse and domestic violence, eating disorders, educational and learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, emotional regulation difficulties, family conflict, first responder stress, grief, hoarding, infertility, infidelity, life coaching, marital and premarital concerns, medical detox support, narcissistic personality concerns, obesity and weight-related concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), open relationships and non-monogamy, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), parenting challenges, peer relationships, pregnancy and prenatal or postpartum concerns, racial identity exploration, relationship challenges, school issues, self-esteem struggles, self-harming behaviors, sex therapy and sex-positive counseling including kink-allied care, sexual abuse recovery, sexual addiction, sleep concerns or insomnia, spirituality exploration, sports performance, stress management, suicidal ideation support, teen violence concerns, transgender support, trauma and PTSD, veterans’ mental health, weight loss support, women’s issues, impulse control disorders, mood disorders, thinking disorders, and broader LGBTQ+ mental health support.

Therapeutic Modalities I Use

My approach to therapy is integrative, meaning I draw from multiple evidence-based approaches to create a treatment plan that best fits each client. I frequently incorporate Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Existential Therapy to support emotional awareness and change.

I also utilize Family and Marital Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Intervention strategies when working with relational or family-based concerns. Mindfulness and awareness-based methods such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Somatic Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy may also be incorporated to support emotional regulation and healing from past experiences.

Other approaches integrated into my work include Motivational Interviewing, Multicultural and Culturally Sensitive Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Coaching techniques, and Trauma-Focused approaches, all designed to empower clients and encourage meaningful growth.
