Child and Adolescent Therapy, Peer Conflicts, Social Skills, Anxiety

Ashley Meyer, LPC

Therapist in St. Louis, MO

I firmly believe that all children are capable of anything, as well as feeling heard, understood and valued.  However sometimes they need additional coping skills and some extra support in order to achieve their full potential.  My goal is to help children and adolescents build resilience, discover their strengths, and build a more positive self-concept.  In order to achieve this, the heart of my counseling approach is derived from a person centered and play therapy approach.  I center my sessions on providing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and maintaining my authentic self.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist.  I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents in the school setting ranging from ages of 4-15.  I have over 11 years experience providing school-based mental health therapy, as well as the private setting.    Besides using a person-centered and play therapy approach, I also incorporate modalities such as a strength based approach, trauma informed, culturally sensitive, somatic, and culturally sensitive.
