Why Choose Averie Mount, LPC?

Finding the right therapist for a child, teenager, or young adult can make an important difference. Averie understands that every young person communicates and processes emotions differently. Some clients may express themselves through conversation, while others may benefit from creative, play-based, or experiential approaches.

Averie combines warmth and compassion with evidence-based therapeutic techniques to create a supportive environment where clients can work through challenges at their own pace. She focuses not only on the difficulties a young person is experiencing, but also on their strengths, abilities, relationships, and potential.

Her goal is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, confidence, self-control, and resilience while providing families with support and practical tools along the way.

Therapeutic Modalities I Use

Averie draws from multiple evidence-based and client-centered approaches to provide individualized care.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can help clients process traumatic or distressing experiences and reduce the emotional impact associated with difficult memories.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) supports children and adolescents in processing trauma while developing healthy coping and emotional-regulation skills.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and learn to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and healthy coping strategies.

Child-Centered Play Therapy gives children an age-appropriate way to express emotions, explore experiences, build confidence, and develop problem-solving and coping skills.

Averie may also incorporate motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, strength-based therapy, attachment-based approaches, sand play, and other therapeutic techniques based on each client's individual needs.
